Moving and Handling Solutions Workshops

The objective for safe manual handling is to reduce injuries for care staff whenever possible and to make transfer solutions safe and comfortable for the user. Also, to save time in terms of work and provide better communication between care recipient and care staff.

OBJECTIVE OF WORKSHOP:

To provide a cost-effective, secure and proactive manual handling programme in a local setting for people dealing with manual handling issues in a community or acute setting.
To provide safe and comfortable solutions, easy to use for both recipient and care staff.

With the introduction of a suitable piece of equipment, following a risk assessment, there may be an opportunity to reduce the number of carers needed to support someone with their daily living activities which introduces opportunities for more flexibility with the provision of their care packages.

Using the right equipment can increase comfort for users and caregivers, reduce costs and increase client independence.

THE WORKSHOP

A series of demonstrations are carried out on the most up-to-date, practical and cost-effective Etac solutions for moving a person as follows:

Turning in bed
Moving higher up in bed
Moving from a lying position in bed into a sitting position
Moving from a sitting bed position into standing and walking
Moving from bed to wheel-chair/commode
Moving between chairs
Systems and solutions for horizontal positioning, turning and pressure care

After the talk and demonstrations, there will be an opportunity to practice the solutions demonstrated and to ask questions.
