Etac R82 to support PMG Conference with sponsorship, presentation and product showcase
PMG's annual conference provides education, an industry exhibition and networking events for professionals working in the field of posture and wheeled mobility. Delegates will include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and clinical scientists working within the NHS wheelchair services. Visitors will also attend from other NHS departments, the charitable sector, private sector, local authorities, and those working independently for wheelchair users.
We will provide an unmissable showcase to professionals with a product display including adult seating, manual wheelchairs, paediatric seating and pressure care solutions. Etac, R82 and Star branded equipment is renowned for exceptional design and high quality that delivers assured performance and long term value. Senior product specialists will be on hand to demonstrate popular innovations such as the Cross 5 and Prio wheelchair, x:panda dynamic seating system and Star cushion range.
As with other events we will be providing educational content at the conference with a 'Pitch your Product! presentation – 14:15, 16th July. This fast-paced format will include a brief session delivered by Jo McConnell, OT and Etac Education Manager, entitled: 'Ability Based Seating – Bridging the gap between medium active and multi-functional wheelchairs'. Jo will illustrate this concept through demonstrations of the Etac Prio and Cross 5 wheelchair.
Ability Based Seating is Etac’s approach to creating individualised seating solutions within their manual wheelchair range. It has already proven to be effective in Scandinavian so it’s time to “Shape up” and learn a new way to maintain and enhance wheelchair users' ability. All professional attendees will receive a free Etac tool kit for easy adjustment of assistive equipment.
Stand 15 will also host informal sessions with Jo McConnell and Marika Tornqvist, Etac Global Product Manager for Manual Wheelchairs:
Day 1: 12:00–13:00: Jo McConnell, OT and Etac Education Manager
Jo will demonstrate how to correctly utilise Star Cushions to optimise press management. Pressure mapping will be available to illustrate the varying effects of different cell sizes particularly the unique 13cm height StarLock option. She will prove that wheelchair users who presented with category III and IV pressure ulcers, demonstrated dramatic improvement in their condition in just two months by using Star products.
Day 1: 14:00–15:00: Marika Tornqvist, Etac Global Product Manager for Manual Wheelchairs
From her frontline experience in Scandinavian, Marika will discuss in a relaxed manner the proven clinical and economic benefits of prescribing Etac wheelchairs. She will illustrate through their adaptable and ergonomic design, suitability for individual needs is broadened and quality manufacturing results in sustainable value for public and private budgets.
